The Perfect Staycation
It’s the best of both worlds. You get a fun adventure without all of the energy of having to plan and travel far. I know I’m not the only one who usually needs to recover from their vacation!
Having a Staycation can show you how amazing where you live really is. It also gives you an opportunity to experience new things without having to go far to do it.
You have to plan at least 1 staycation this summer!
Here are some things to think about when planning a staycation:
1. If you want a low stress location, choose somewhere close to home or maybe a few cities or towns over. It should be easy for you to drive there so you don’t have to book additional transportation or go a long distance.
2. I love resorts! They usually have a lot of family friendly activities so you don’t need to plan everything yourself. Just arrive and enjoy. Resorts also have so many on site ways to meet your needs such as restaurants, entertainment, and stores. Staying on a resort is ideal if the purpose of your staycation is relaxation and fun.
3. Have an idea of what you want to do so you make sure you arrive on the day those activities are available. Weekends are always prime travel times so if you want to skip the crowd, you may consider booking your stay on a weekday. But keep in mind, some of the entertainment or activities may not be available during slower days.
4. Choose a place that has restaurants and room service so you get a break from planning and making everyone’s meals. I don’t know about you, but preparing meals for a family of 6 is exhausting. And the crazy thing is they want to eat EVERYDAY! Haha! So make sure, you consider where you will get your food and meals when planning your vacation.
5. Bring snacks even if there’s food there! Look, don’t go anywhere with kids without a few snacks in your pocket. You still need your own snacks when you have kids. You never know when they’ll get hungry, and you don’t want them to have a hunger tantrum. The restaurant may have a long wait time or it might close before you get a chance to have dinner. Always be prepared with extra snacks.
